Growing up in Germany, I inherit the passion of creating furniture out of rattan from my father. He taught me all there is to know about rattan and rattan furniture. Surrounded by the stacks of rattan from the freshly cut heaps to those ready to be shaped, I develop my own fervour about this amazing resource of mother nature.

It is a Schütz belief that rattan furniture should be made of quality material, designed to last through seasons and trends, strong and durable. Holding on persistently to these principles, we raise the bar on rattan furniture standard.

In our business, we rely much on natural resources to get the best materials to produce our furniture. We always ensure that great measure is taken to preserve the environment. Simultaneously, rattan itself, with its short life cycle, manner of growth and harvest method, is the most environmentally friendly material of all.

In 2003, I brought the Schütz innovation, ideas, creativity and skills to Indonesia, taking up the name of Aida Rattan. With plenty of premium rattan supplies, we combine the German know – how and technique with Indonesia’s vast rattan materials and human resources to produce the finest rattan furniture, crafting every piece to perfection.
